Courtship
During an IM chat, a friend asked me "A guy likes a girl. The girl likes the guy too but nothing seems happening between them".
The permutation of possible scenarios could be beyond our comprehension as the behaviours of every individual are distinctive. I can only think of the following:-
~ still haunted by past relationships.
~ objection from parents/guardians.
~ the timing is not in favour of either one or both parties.
~ either one or both are still keeping his/her options wide.
~ different priorities in life e.g relationship can be forgone now.
~ perhaps both are still young and have the privelege to 'test drive'.
~ either one or both are not making any move due to personal reasons.
~ the one who are being courted may have not responded due to personal reasons.
If I were him, I'd ask her out for a date. Meeting and interacting face-to-face is an effective way to get to know another person better.. besides making calls, sending sms and IM chat of which I personally feel the latter are lacking of human touch. A date may not be limited to shopping, movie and dinner per se but rather spending some quality time getting to know each other better. A stroll on the beach, a jog in the park, mountain biking or cook each other a meal would be cool if both have inclination towards mother nature and away from crowds (places to be seen such as pubs, discos, CB, Starbucks.. etc).
I'm patient and diligent when it comes to kao lui. I'll observe and get to know her more prior to making my moves. I do not jump into a relationship blindly only to break off later due to irreconciliable differences and incompatibility in many areas. I understand not all relationships will end up walking thru the aisle but I'll always try to play my parts well although I do have my fair share of imperfections too. Nonetheless, when I fall in love I DO fall truly madly deeply..
